General Candle Care & Safety

Each Suavis candle is hand-poured using natural ingredients, which means minor variations in appearance are normal and part of their charm.

We use Coconut Apricot wax blend, a soft, premium blend known for its smooth, clean, and even burn. However, because it’s delicate by nature, it may soften or shift slightly during shipping in warmer climates.

To keep your candle in the best condition:

  • Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight or humidity.
  • Use the lid (if included) to keep dust and debris out between burns.

The First Burn Matters

To prevent tunneling and ensure a full, even melt pool:

  • Let your candle burn all the way to the edges of the jar on the very first burn. This may take 2–4 hours, depending on the size.
  • Avoid lighting it if you only have a short amount of time—give it time to do its thing.

Burn Time & Maintenance Tips

  • Don’t burn your candle for longer than 4 hours at a time—overheating reduces performance and shortens overall lifespan.
  • Always trim your wick to ¼ inch before each burn to prevent soot and keep the flame steady.
  • If you notice any blackening of the wax, it’s likely due to a draft or excessive heat. Let it cool, then wipe gently with a cloth.

When to Say Goodbye

  • Stop burning your candle when about ½ inch of wax remains. Continuing beyond this point may cause the container to overheat.
  • If you notice the wick has detached from the bottom and moved, stop use immediately. A wandering wick can cause the jar to crack or shatter, especially near the end of the candle's life.

Final Safety Notes

Always:

  • Burn on a flat, heat-safe surface
  • Keep away from children, pets, and drafts
  • Never leave a burning candle unattended

For your safety, please refer to the candle warning label on the bottom of the jar before each use.
